WebCD Globe CD-Recorder Speed

Writing a compact disc requires intensive use of system resources. CD recording is a real-time process which must occur at a constant speed. One of the speed factors if the speed at which the CD-Recorder can write. You will need to coordinate this with the transfer rate capability of your hard disk. The following table summarizes the possible speed options for CD-ROM (not all speeds will be available on all CD-Recorders) and the data transfer rates required at these speeds:

CD-ROM Data (2048)
Writing speed Required transfer rate
1x 150 kilobytes/second
2x 300 kilobytes/second
4x 600 kilobytes/second
